Sri Lanka paddlers Mihiliya Methsarani and Ravindu Laksiri qualified for the quarterfinals of Plate Table Tennis Singles at the Commonwealth Games 2018 today (6).
Methsarani beat Amanda Haywood of Barbados 3-1 -- 11-7, 8-11, 11-5 and 11-2 in the Women's Plate Round of 16 match to qualify for the quarters, where she is slotted to meet Taylor Fernandes of Guyana at 2.14pm Sri Lanka time.
Laksiri beat Michael Kawooya of Uganda 3-0 -- 11-2, 11-2 and 11-6 -- to win the Men's Classic Plate Round of 16 match.
He will meet Kelvin Ndhlovu of Zambia in the Men's Singles Classic quarterfinal at 3.45pm Sri Lanka time.
