Dellon Peiris, the match-winning leg-spinner of S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia, continues to show his prowess for yet another week in the All-Island Schools, as the Dialog 4G-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Cricketer of the Year 2018 reaches the end of its 15th week.
Dellon adds 1842 to his ever-growing tally, which now hits 16956 while his counterpart from St. Peter's College, Sachin Silva, has polled 6979 votes.
The deficit is a major advance from what it was last week as Dellon shows very little interest in slowing down.
With 11 more weeks to go Dellon could reach a record tally as excitement and thrill follows. This week too Dellon earns the most number of combined votes.
At third is Vihan Gunasekara of D.S. Senanayake College, who seems to be quite comfortable with his pace at present.
His addition to the total maybe 59 for the ended week, but Vihan's total -- 4591 -- at the moment is a safe count for him, with no competition from competitors in the lineup.
As usual Ananda College skipper Asel Sigera follows in at fourth with Kavin Peiris of Lumbini College at fifth.
Denuwan Perera of Carey College, continues to dominate the Emerging Schools category for yet another week.
His total reaches 8251 by this week after adding up 1165 combined votes.
He leads Kenula Gunaratne of St. Aloysius College Ratnapura, by 2941 votes.
Kenula took his total to 5310 after adding 1001 combined votes.
He leads third-placed Sonara Karunathunga of Ananda Sasthralaya, by 1665 votes, which is impressive in numbers than last week.
Thimira Malshan, also of Ananda Sasthralaya, is at fourth place way behind team mate Sonara, while Heshan Madushanka of Piliyandala Central remains at fifth position.
Harshitha Samarawickrama of Anula Vidyalaya, continues to lead the Girls' Category.
Her count reaches 5155 by this week and the lead against Pabasara Ranabahu of Rathnavali Girls' School Gampaha is 1401.
She managed to add 321 combined votes while Pabasara adds 516 combined votes to take her tally to 3754.
Kaveesha Dilhani of Devapathiraja MV, Rathgama and Ruwini Nandasena of St. Joseph's Girls School are the other two contenders in the list.
On coupons and online votes
Coupons will be published in the two English dailies, the Daily Mirror and DailyFT, and the two Sinhala dailies, Daily Lankadeepa and Ada and Sinhala Weekend, Deshaya with the deadline set in 11 more weekends.
Readers could vote for their favourite schoolboy or schoolgirl cricketer and take them to the winning post during this period.
Dialog Axiata's online voting system through their official Online Portal to vote for the Most Popular Cricketer (www.dialog.lk/cricket).
Online voting will be open until April 5, 2018.
Both coupon votes and online votes will be counted on a weekly basis and the official results published from every Sunday in the five newspapers and its websites.
The deadline for COUPONS and ONLINE VOTES will be every Thursday Noon.
Online Votes received after the weekly cutoff time will be counted for the next week, while for Coupons, ONLY those numbered for the particular week will be taken into count.
