Colombo FC and Blue Star SC will clash in the opener of the Dialog Champions League (DCL) football tournament, which includes 140 games, at the Racecourse ground in Torrington today (25) evening. This year’s edition of the DCL tournament will feature 22 teams competing in two groups. The top four teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8 round. The winner of DCL is set to receive Rs. 1Million in cash in addition to the coveted trophy. The runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs. 500,000. FFSL Division I champions Highlanders FC from Ratnapura will make their DCL debut this season. Army SC and Ratnams have won the DCL thrice each while Negombo Youth has claimed the title twice. Blue Star, Renown, Air Force, Army, Don Bosco and reigning champs Solid SC have claimed the title time each.
