Mayor’s XI, Saunders, Colombo FC and Renown reached the semi-final stage of the Mayor’s Cup Football Championship which is scheduled to be played on Saturday (12) at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
In the quarter-finals played on Sunday (6) Mayor’s XI, a team of combined players from top clubs not invited for the tournament, beat Java Lane by 4-1 while Saunders defeated Blue Star by 4-2.
Colombo FC edged out Super Sun by 4-3 in a thrilling quarter-final played on Tuesday (8) after Renown had to fight hard for their win against Crystal Palace 3-2.
The first semi-final will be played between Renown and Mayor’s XI at 3.00pm followed by the game between Colombo FC and Saunders at 5.00pm.
