Taniya Minel Balasuriya is overall winner of the NDB Private Wealth Junior Masters (PWJM) Challenge Trophy 2017 held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) on August 18.
With her unrelenting composure, young Taniya beat out the pack, where top potential young Golfers of Sri Lanka were vying for the crown.
Importantly, this year's NDB PWJM Golf Championships also saw a steady uptick in participants, with interest expressed by several overseas participants.
A clear indicator that the tournament's longstanding mission to promote Junior Golf has made considerable headway.
Further, the competition has grown increasingly popular in no small part because of the significant rewards on offer.
The 4 winners, as well as those placed 1st and 2nd Runner-up in each category, all earned NDB Wealth accounts of significant value for their winning performances, which will serve as an investment into their sporting future.
Additionally, all competitors also received NDB Wealth Accounts as gifts for participating.
"I am very impressed with the incredible turnout and tournament play we witnessed at the 2017 NDB PWJM Golf Championships, now in its 3rd consecutive year. The growth of Junior Golf in Sri Lanka is undoubtedly very important to us at NDB Wealth. We have invested heavily in the sport, not only with this tournament, but also with our sponsorship of the National Junior Golf Rankings, as we believe it is one of the best options for Sri Lanka's Athletes to distinguish themselves internationally," commented NDB Wealth CEO Prabodha Samarasekera.
