Rajarata University and Sabaragamuwa University clinched the men’s and women’s titles respectively at the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) Hockey Sixes 2017 which was concluded at Rajarata university ground in Anuradhapura.
This one day inter university hockey sixes tournament conducted by Rajarata university saw 28 men and women’s teams representing Moratuwa, Sabaragamuwa, Rajarata, Kelaniya, Wayamba, Ruhuna, Peradeniya and Jayewardenepura universities taking part.
In the men’s final H.M.B.V.B Herath powered Rajarata to wrap up the men's title with a one goal to nil win over fancied Ruhunu University Matara.
Sabaragamuwa lasses outplayed Moratuwa University 2-1 in the final to annex the women’s title.
Sapuni Guruge scored both goals for the champions.
In the decider for the mens third place Moratuwa 'B' beat Moratuwa 'A' by 2-1 while Kelaniya University had the consolation of winning the women’s third place by defeating Sri Jayewardenepura 2-0.

Best defender: (Men) J.M.D.H Jayasundara (Ruhuna); (Women) K.A.L.B. Jayatissa (Moratuwa)
