Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera was named by Sri Lanka as the replacement to injured Dhammika Prasad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 which begins on Saturday (14). “Dhammika Prasad will not be in a position to represent the World Cup squad for the upcoming 2015 ICC WC owing to the injuries received by him during practice. Hence the Selection Committee in consultation with the Team Management has approved to include Dushmantha Chameera in place of Dhammika Prasad in the above squad subject to receiving the ICC Technical Committee’s approval in this regard,” a media communiqué issued by Sri Lanka Cricket stated.
