Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda, Vijayabahu Central, Okkampitiya, Colombo Gothami Balika Vidayalaya along with Devapathiraja College, Ratgama will be playing the semi-finals of the inaugural All Island Under 17 Inter Schools Cricket tournament. The two semi-final matches will be worked off at Thurstan College Grounds tomorrow Monday (29) and Tuesday (30). 35 girls school teams participated in this inaugural tournament played in eleven groups. Anula Vidyalaya captained by Amasha Delshani meet Vijayabahu Madya Vidyalaya led by Achini Lasanthi in the first semi-final and the second semi-final match will be between Gothami Balika Vidyalaya and Devapathiraja College, Ratgama with Pooja Rashmi at the helm. Both matches will be highly contested with all four schools possess talented all-rounders who are capable of creating an upset at any time. Anula Vidyalaya had already produced a national player in Hasini Perera and will be a side to be reckoned as they can boast of an all-round side. Devapathiraja College is another allround outfit with two centurions in skipper Pooja Rashmi and Kaveesha Dilhari. Vijayabahu Madya Vidyalaya consisting of a strong bowling side could cause problems in this vital encounter while Gothami Balika Vidyalaya on the other hand is a side that are capable of rising to any occasion in turning the tide in their favour.
