MCA Cricket: Division 'C' League roundup

Chandula Weeraratne and Tharushan Iddamalgoda of Kanrich Finance (Kanrich) 'B' hogged the spotlight in the opening week-end of the 7th Prestige Automobile (Pvt) Ltd. sponsored, 'BMW-Hyundai' Trophy MCA Division 'C' 50-Over League Tournament 2018. 

Paceman Chandula Weeraratne with a hostille spell of medium-fast bowling (9.4-3-33-7) ripped through the strong Stafford Motors batting line-up to give Kanrich 'B' a 4-wicket win on Saturday (13) at the BRC ground. 

Earlier, at the MCA, a brilliant double by No.3 batsman cum leg-spinner, Tharushan Iddamalgoda (76 in 61 balls, with 1 six and 6 fours and 6.2-0-15-6) steered Kanrich 'B' to a comprehensive 170 runs win over Colombo Dockyard. 

Other notable performances came from Tharindu Madushanka of JL Morison [92 in 94 balls with 3 sixes and 12 fours vs Commercial Bank (ComBank)], Hasitha Perera of CDB Finance (75 not out in 63 balls with 1 six and 8 fours vs Commercial Leasing & Finance).  
The tournament continues this week with a card of seven matches.
