Ashan Silva emerged the Best Driver while Ishan Dassanayake retained his title as the Best Rider at the 25th Fox Hill Supercorss 2017 held at the Military Academy facility in Diyatalawa today (22).
Silva won the Best Driver's title in 2015 but opted to stay out of the competition last year as Padinsu Peiris won it last year.
This time he succeeded to come out victorious in both races of the SL-GT Cars up to 3500cc.
Dassanayake rode his way to three wins when he came out on top in the Race 1 and 2 Group MX over 175cc up to 250cc races and the Group P MX Racing Motorbikes over 100cc up to 125cc.
The other driver to bag two races was young Kushan Peiris.
Few years ago he had the honour of winning three titles -- feat which no other driver has achieved in the 25 year history of the sport.
Peiris first won the Group SL-N Standard Ford Laser/Mazda event and then the Group SL-H Cars up to 1618cc event.
Imal Manchanayake too had a successful run when he won two events which were the Race 1 and 2 of the Super Motard 250cc up to 750cc events.
The other notable drivers and riders to succeed were Samantha Gunawardena, Upulwan Serasinghe and Ishraq Wahab in the motor car category and Evon Boyage in the motorcycle who each won an event.
The Foxhill Supercross meet organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa was the silver jubilee event which began way back in 1993 initiated by Major Gen Gamini Gunasekera.
