Hambantota Sharks, a side competing in the ongoing Dialog Division ‘A’ League Rugby Championship has officially pulled out from the competition according to reliable sources. An insider of Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union stated that Hambantota Sharks have officially submitted its desire to withdraw from the competition citing injuries to players. In addition CH&FC, a top rugby team with a rich history has also reached to the position of pulling out from the competition due to an internal issue. The SLRFU source stated that its top official will meet on Friday (30) to discuss on matters that will arise after the pull out of the two teams. Hambantota Sharks was launched formed two seasons ago by North Western Province Council member Johann Fernando under the patronage of Johnston Fernando, a Parliamentarian of United National Freedom Alliance. The team’s official home venue was the Beliatta National Stadium but their second round game against Air Force last week was played at Ratmalana.
