The Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) is on the verge of lodging a protest against the controversial try posted by Hong Kong against Sri Lanka in the final of the first leg of the Asian Rugby Sevens Series in Hong Kong on Saturday (3).
Sri Lanka was leading 17-12 at the time when the debated try was posted by Hong Kong which shows Lee Jones knocks on the ball before the try is posted.
The on-field referee was not clearly positioned to award the try.
The SLRFU, it is learned, will write to Asian Rugby Football Union and World Rugby of the incident which eventually caused Sri Lanka a 17-22 loss in the final.
