The Sri Lanka Sevens development team under the captaincy of Sudarshana Muthuthanthri, will compete at the Singapore Cricket Club Rugby 7s Tournament this weekend. The Sri Lanka side will be featured as Lankan Lions in the three-day tournament to be played from Friday (October 30) to Sunday (November 1). Besides Sri Lankan Lions, the tournament will feature England Academy, Sunny Bank, East Arnhem, Singapore CC, NS Silverbacks, Singapore, Springbok 7s Academy, Tribe 7s, Swedish Vikings, Kurumi, Penguins, Borneo Eagles, Palmyra, Iskandar Raiders, France Development, Kenya Impala, Papua New Guinea, Global Samoa, Casuarina, NS Wanderers, Singapore Ba Bas, Cottesloe and Tamariva – a total of 24 teams. “The Lankan Lion’s participation at the upcoming Singapore Cricket Club 7s tournament will be an opportunity for a Sri Lanka development squad to participate at international competition prior to the Asia Rugby Olympic Qualifier,” the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union stated. Part of the team will fly straight to Hong Kong to join the Sri Lanka Sevens team for the Olympic Qualifiers from the Asian Region to be held next weekend. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
