Sri Lanka fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has sustained an injury during the first Test played in Leeds, forcing him to return to Sri Lanka.
"24-year-old right-arm fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera who rattled the England lower order with three quick wickets in the 1st Investec Test has sustained an injury to his lower back, and will be returning to Colombo for further treatment and rest. Chameera, who scalped the seemingly unstoppable Jonny Bairstow on 140, underwent a MRI/CT Scan, which has indicated a stress fracture to his lower back, and medical recommendation is treatment and rest for as much as four months," Sri Lanka Cricket, issuing an official statement said.
It is likely that Chameera will be replaced by fast bowler Chaminda Bandara, who represents Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA).
