Lasantha Ranaweera, a top ranked Sri Lankan wheelchair Tennis player, emerged joint champion in the Men's Singles of the ITF Futures Series Thailand Wheelchair Tennis Championship on Tuesday (24).
Ranaweera was declared joint champion along with Korea's Sung Hun after the final was abandoned by rain.
Ranaweera claimed the first set 6/4 but was trailing 2/5 in the second set when the game was called off.
He overcame Korea's top ranked Im Ho in the quarter-finals and went on to register a comfortable win against the Korean No.2 Lee Ha Gel in the semi-final.
Ranaweera also competed in the Men's Double with his partner D.S.R. Dharmasena and claimed the third place in the main draw.
