Western Province Central won the Prima Under 15 Inter-Provincial Cricket Tournament after obtaining first innings points against Western Province South in the final played at the SSC ground in Colombo on Saturday (29).
Western Province Central (WPC), resuming from their overnight score of 161-9 added a further nine runs to their total to end their first innings with a score of 170.
On the opening day bowling duo of WPC, Sampath Nissanka and Tashik Nirmal shared nine wickets between them to run through the Western Province South (WPS) batting lineup to bundle them out for a meager 96.
WPS declared their second innings at 187-9, to set WPC a modest target of 119 runs for victory.
At close of play WPC were 75-6.
