The completion of the first round matches of the All Island Under 17 inter-schools cricket tournament saw 32 two teams qualify to the second round.
The first round matches saw 74 teams divided into ten groups in the fray.
The 32 teams that qualified to the second round have been divided into eight groups of teams in each.
The second round will be played on a league basis and after completion will see the top two teams qualifying to the pre-quarter finals.
St Servatius Matara emerged champions last year defeating St Anthony’s Katugastota in the final.
The teams:
Group ‘P’: Nalanda, Maris Stella, Sri Sumangala College Panadura, Prince of Wales.
Group ‘Q’: S. Thomas’, Piliyandala Central, Mahanama Colombo, Ananda.
Group ‘R’: St. Peter’s, St. Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa, St. John’s Jaffna, Royal.
Group ‘S’: Isipathana, Dharmapala Pannipitiya, St. Sylvester’s, St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa
Group ‘T’: St. Joseph’s Colombo, Dharmasoka MV Ambalangoda, Vidyaloka MV Galle, Thurstan.
Group ‘U’: Gurukula MV Kelaniya, St. Aloysius Galle, Richmond, St. Anthony’s Wattala
Group ‘V’: St. Anthony’s Katugastota, Dharmaraja, St. Peter’s Negombo, St. Thomas Matara.
Group ‘W’: Trinity, Maliyadeva, Moratu MV, Mahinda.
