Sri Lanka Under-19s beat Nepal Under-19s by 65 runs in their second warm up game of ICC Youth World Cup played at Krira Shikkha ground in Savar, Bangladesh on Monday (25).
Sri Lanka, put into bat, posted 230-9 in 45 overs and bowled out Nepal for 165 with 17 deliveries to spare.
In-form Sammu Ashan, the vice captain of the Sri Lankan side, hit a 74-ball knock of 81 with four fours and four sixes to bolster his team’s total while skipper Charith Asalanka made 71 runs after facing 68 deliveries and hitting ten fours.
Ashan and Asalanka were featured in a 83-run partnership for the third wicket.
For Nepal, who could not make progress from the start, Dipendra Singh Airee top scored with unbeaten 33 followed by the knock of 31 from Raju Rijal.
Asalanka took claimed two wickets.
