Sri Lanka beat Malaysia 27-21 in the opening game of the ARFU Asian Under-19 Rugby Championship played at the University ground in Kuala Lumpur today (11).
Malaysia led the first half 14-8 and played gallantly until the very last minute.
However Sri Lanka did not give in right throughout to edge past Malaysia in the final few minutes of the game.
Sri Lanka scored from four tries, two conversions and a penalty while Malaysia scored from three converted tries.
Sri Lanka will take on Hong Kong on Wednesday (14) in their second game while Malaysia will meet China later on the same day.
