The DSI Supersports Inter-School Volleyball Tournament, previously conducted in 4 age groups namely, Under (U)-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19, will be conducted this year in 5 age groups, with the inclusion of the U-11 category.
The tournament is being conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF), the Schools Volleyball Association and the Ministry of Education.
The tournament, starting in 1999 with 198 teams, is being held for the 18th consecutive year. Entries have been called and it is envisaged that over 4,000 teams will participate.
Entries will close on April 6.
The 2018 tournament was launched at the Colombo Nippon Hotel recently, where Minister and SLVF President Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and D. Samson Group (DSI) Managing Director Thusitha Rajapaksa were inaugurated the event.
The tournament is being conducted in 2 Stages. The District Stage and the National Level Stage.
The District matches will be held islandwide from April 27 to May 1. Round I of the National Level will be held from May 31 to July 2.
The finals of all the age Groups will take place on August 3-4, at the National Youth Service Council (NYSC) Indoor Stadium, Maharagama.
This tournament is known as the foundation to produce National Level Volleyball players.
Entries could be handed over at DSI Showrooms islandwide or, at the DSI Marketing Department, 257, High Level Road, Navinna, Maharagama.
