Weightlifting: Eight athletes for Asian Championship in Phuket
Sri Lanka will send a set of eight players – six men and two women – for the 46th Men’s and 26th Women’s Asian Weightlifting Championship 2015 to be held in Phuket, Thailand from September 3 to 12. Four officials will accompany the Sri Lankan weightlifters for the 10-day event where China, Korea, Iran, Iraq, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are also set to take part. The teams Men’s: Chinthana Geethal Vidanage (69kg), Indika Chaturanga Dissanayake (69kg), Chaturanga Lakmal (56kg), Kamal Egodawattha (56kg), Husitha Sreemal Abeykoon (94kg), Saman Abeywickrama (105kg) Women’s: Chathurika Priyanthi (69kg), Hansani Gomez (48kg) Officials: R.B. Wickramasinghe (Coach), Maj. Gen. H. P. Mihindukulasooriya (Manager), Emil Nishantha (Asst. Manager), Upul Jayatilake (Physio)
