Four teams will be in action in the SLC Women’s Super Provincial cricket tournament scheduled to be played from November 24 at the SSC grounds.
The four teams in the fray are Team Galle-- the defending champions, Team Colombo, Team Dambulla and Team Kandy.
The captains who will spearhead the teams are Nilakshi de Silva (Galle), Oshadi Ranasinghe (Colombo), Chamari Atapattu (Dambulla) and Harshitha Madhavi (Kandy).
The inaugural tournament played last year was a limited over (50 over) but this time the organisers have decided to conduct in the T20 format with the aim of selecting players for the forthcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be played in Australia in February 2020.
Last year Team Galle emerged champion with a 29 run win against Team Dambulla.
