Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, yesterday (Oct 8), pledged to assist the private sector with Rs 500 billion to support the export economy, while seeking to modernise the pension scheme for public servants in the country. PM Wickremesinghe made these observations addressing the National Pensioners Day celebrations held at the Nelum Pokuna Theater.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
