A silent protest was held today outside the Prime Minister’s Office in Colombo by women’s rights and civil society activists to condemn Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s speech ridiculing a rival political leader’s personal life. The activists said the speech made at a recent political rally was highly insensitive and an insult to women’s reproductive rights.
