President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (Sept 22) said that no political party can form a government without the support of an alliance of another party. Addressing a Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) district rally in Matara, Mr. Sirisena said that the next government could be formed only by forming a progressive alliance.
Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been summoned by the Bribery Commission following a statement he made supporting MP Chamara Sampath Dissanayake who is in custody.
