Mumbai (AFP) - Salman Khan, one of Bollywood's biggest stars, was sentenced on Wednesday to five years in prison for drunkenly killing a homeless man with his SUV in a 2002 hit-and-run.
Judge D.W. Deshpande told a sessions court in the Indian city of Mumbai that Khan should receive "five years in jail" for the crash that the actor had blamed on his driver.
Khan looked stunned as the sentence was read out, according to an AFP reporter in the court.
