Mobitel provides election results via SMS

Mobitel, saying it pioneered the provision of election results via SMS, continued its service to the public together with Department of Government Information at yesterday’s Western Province Provincial Council Elections.

Following the exchanging of agreements with the Department of Government Information (DGI) early this year Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel the National Mobile Service Provider pioneered the service of offering election results, via SMS in Sri Lanka at the Provincial council Elections conducted for Central and Wayamba provincial councils.

As the second phase of this service, Mobitel is also providing SMS based election results on the Western Province, Provincial council Election as well.
