10th Diploma programme by SLITAD

Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) is the premier Professional body of Human Resources Development and Workplace Learning professionals in the country. SLITAD was set up in 1998 as a Non-profit Organization and affiliated to the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO).

The National Diploma in Training and Development is conducted by SLITAD and more than 260 students have successfully completed the study programme over the past ten years. This one-year study is specially designed for those who wish to develop their skills and competencies in Human Resource Development (HRD), Training, Training Administration and Human Capital Development.

The recently revised course to match international standards comprises of eight core modules that comprehensively covers areas such as Scope of Training in Human Resource Development; Theories of Learning and Training; Training Need Analysis and Training Course Design; Organizational Behaviour; Training Approaches, Methods and Techniques in HRD; Communication and Presentation Skills; Research Methods; Human Resource Management and Administration. Marketing of Training internally and externally is a new feature in this year's programme.

The unique feature of this programme is the use of proven adult learning methodologies that consists of Case Studies, Critical Incidents, Simulations, Work Shops, Lectures, Seminars, Presentations, and Sharing Experiences, etc. In addition, the participants will carry out group activities and syndicate presentations to improve their skills and competencies in HRD. A group of eminent professionals serve as Visiting Lecturers for this course. The evaluation criteria are based on Assignments, Presentation, a Written Examination and a Project.

This Diploma is the ideal opportunity for persons with following qualifications:

  • A Degree from a recognized university.
  • Three years of work experience in HRD.
  • Commissioned Officers of the Three Armed Services.
  • Gazetted Offers of the Police.
  • Certificate in Training & Development either from the SLITAD or the NIBM.
  • Any other qualification acceptable to the governing council of the SLITAD.

Those who have lesser qualifications will also have the opportunity to follow the diploma programme upon completion of the six-month study programme for the Certificate in Training and Development conducted by SLITAD. Visit www.slitad.org for more details.
