Priyantha takes veterans triple

Lalith Priyantha displayed his class to annex the Men’s Singles, the Men’s doubles and the Mixed Doubles titles at the veterans Table Tennis Championships, held at the Race Course tables.

Lalith a former National Champion and Skipper of the Sri Lanka Table Tennis teams for a number of years proved inconclusively that his talent is still there.

Competing in the 40-50 year Category Lalith displayed a wide variety of attacking strokes to defeat Gamini Moraes in the Men’s Singles, and teamed up with Dietmar Doering to Crush Priyantha Perera and Gamini Moraes in the Men’s doubles before partnering Ira Ruwanpathirana to clinch the mixed doubles title in fact he achieved the triple crown without conceding a set to his opponents.
