Thousands of vehicles jammed in Colombo port

Four ships carrying more than 2,000 vehicles including cars have been anchored in the outer harbour of the Colombo Port for more than two weeks due to lack of space to unload the cargo, officials said yesterday.

 
No remission of sentence for Fonseka

The remission given to prisoners for good behaviour would not be applicable to former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka since he was convicted by a military court, Prison Commissioner General P.W. Kodippili said yesterday.
