Dr. W.L. Fernando, father of Sri Lanka’s first Test captain Bandula Warnapura and the grand father of the current Test opening batsman Malinda Warnapura passed away.

He was predeceased by his wife, the late Romlyn Fernando and he leaves behind three sons Sarath, Upali and Bandula.

The Funeral will take place this evening at 6 p.m. at the General cemetery Kanatte and the cortège will leave 16, Vaverset Place, Wellawatte at 5 p.m..
