‘Sareeing’ in a catch

Using a saree as an improvised fishing net, these two women were seen fishing at a tank in Sinnamu-ththuaru, a small village along the Ampara-Akkaraipattu Road.

Scores of poor families in this little village turn to nature to fulfil their daily needs.
