About the Academy of Design (AOD)
The School of Fashion at the Academy of Design (AOD) is Sri Lanka's Foremost Education Institute for Fashion Design. AOD offers students a chance to earn a British Bachelors Degree in Fashion; BA (Hons) Fashion from the Northumbria University UK. Students are able to complete their entire undergraduate education in Design right here in Sri Lanka and obtain a truly International Qualification, recognized globally, all at a fraction of the cost compared to studying for the identical programme in the UK.
Taught by a multi-cultural faculty of design professionals, the learning happens through combination of tutorial guidance, project 'crits', lectures, group projects etc.. enabling the students to develop their own distinctive style and with it giving them all the knowledge required to make their mark as a Fashion Designer in the global fashion area.
Design Research, Drawing Techniques, Fashion Illustration, Textiles, Historical and Critical Studies, Portfolio Presentation, Pattern Cutting, Garment Construction and Digital Design are some of the skills that the students will learn on their way to becoming professionals in the field of Fashion Design.
