Kingswood College Kandy and Mahamaya Girls School Kandy emerged victorious at the 5th Central Provincial Swimming meet which was held at the Kingswood Aquatic club.

Over 700 contenders from 53 schools of the central province took part in this annual swimming carnival. Competitions were held under age groups and novices categories which were held separately for girls and boys.

In the boys’ category Trinity College were the runners up and in the girl’s category Hillwood Girls’ School were the runners up.

From the boys schools Uthpal Serasinghe of Kingswood College won the under 15 championship, E.M Wijeynarayan of Vision International School won under 17 Championship and Hansaka De Silva of Kingswood College bagged the under 19 Championship.

In the girl’s category DCDM Wimalaratne of Sri Sangamitha Balika won the under 15 Championship, Ruvini Gunawardena of Hillwood Kandy won the under 17 event and Shenali Liyanage of Hillwood won the under 19 Championship.
