The prevailing weather has forced Sri Lanka Cricket to postpone the Premier Tier ‘A’ limited over final which was scheduled to be played at the SSC grounds today. The two semi finals which were scheduled to be played yesterday at the P. Sara Stadium and SSC ground was washed out without a ball being bowled.
The two semi finals which were due to be played were between Tamil Union and SSC at SSC grounds and Chilaw Marians against Colts at the P. Sara Stadium. Tamil Union who were the table leaders and Chilaw Marians who were second by virtue of the standings automatically qualified for the final. The scheduled date for the final to be played will be notified in due course.
Meanwhile the second semi final of the Premier Tier ‘B’ between Seeduwa/Raddoluwa CC and Sebastianites which was also scheduled to be played at Braybrooke Place yesterday was washed out due to heavy rain. Seeduwa/Raddoluwa CC by virtue of being placed second qualifies to the final.
They will now meet Panadura in the final which according to the schedule is slotted to be played on November 25 at the SSC grounds. There is a possibility that this too could be postponed if bad weather prevails. Seeduwa/Raddoluwa CC who came into the Tier ‘B’ tournament only last year are entering the final in their second year.
