The Educate Lanka Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization based in the Greater Washington D.C. area, is among the top 100 most voted charities on Facebook and has won a $25,000 donation from Chase Bank. Educate Lanka, the only Sri Lankan charity to achieve this esteemed recognition, competed against over 500,000 other U.S. based 501 (C) 3 charities in the first round of the Chase Community Giving Programme.
The 100 selected charities now have the opportunity to compete in the second round of the competition to contend for the top prize of $1 million from Chase Bank. The five runners up will each receive a donation of $100,000.
The winners of the second round will be chosen through a week long voting period on Facebook, starting from January 15. During this week, Facebook users will have the opportunity to vote for Educate Lanka Foundation by using the direct link below – or by visiting the Foundation’s website – www.educatelanka.org.

Educate Lanka Foundation was founded in 2006 with a mission of empowering underprivileged students in Sri Lanka to achieve a quality education. The Foundation is operated on a 100% volunteer basis by young Sri Lankan expatriates in the U.S.
