A series of skills development programmes were recently concluded in Sri Lanka's northern urban centre of Jaffna.
These included the Jaffna Mini Infotel exhibition, a career guidance programme by the country's Information and Communication Technology Agency, innovation and entrepreneurship training for unemployed graduates and a business forum on using ICT in small and medium businesses. This was noted in a recent statement by the Federation of Information Technology Industries of Sri Lanka (FITIS).
Additionally, again according to FITIS's statement, the organisation had "commenced a 15-day training programme in ICT, English language and career skills for ex-combatants immediately after the [Jaffna Mini Infotel exhibition]. During the exhibition, more than 500 former cadres in rehabilitation camps actively participated in the workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship that were also organised by FITIS". |
