Sri Lankan students win University of Melbourne Scholarships

Six Sri Lankan students won University of Melbourne Scholarships for the first semester intake in March, five of whom attended the recently held award ceremony.

Awards were given by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, Professor Glyn Davis.
The scholarship winners seen here are:

  • Sahan Siriwardene of Colombo International School, Commerce
  • Shivantha Samaranayake of Colombo International School, B Commerce
  • Natasha Thantrimudali of Colombo International School, B Arts
  • Vinesh Pillay of Sri Lankan International School, (Riyadh) B Engineering
  • Madhawee Nishaminee Fernando, Girls HS, Kandy, B Arts

Ms. Glen Mc Intyre who visits Sri Lanka annually to meet with prospective students and parents reported that Sri Lankan students - outstanding contributors to the University, were highly motivated and made the most of their time at the University".
