Are You Ready?

The Rotaract Club of the University of Moratuwa which strives under the slogan 'Service above self' has pioneered the empowerment of Sri Lankan lives as a club being based in one of the largest technological institutions in the country.

The club which has taken on massive projects such as 'HandZ' and 'Light up the world' has received many a recognition both locally and internationally for its work. 'Are You Ready 2010' is the official careers fair of University of Moratuwa organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit. This year the event is organized for the 13th consecutive year.

'Are You Ready' was awarded the Rotaract District award for best Professional Development project in the Rotary district 3220 for ten successive years proving the fact that this is one of the most significant projects carried out by the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa.

This year's 'Are You Ready' expands to two fresh and different sessions which are added to offer exceptional knowledge on areas like career guidance and development business trends and ultimately guide our undergraduates towards becoming effective professional leaders.

Inauguration
This event mainly targeting all undergraduates who are interested in getting familiar with the large firms in Sri Lanka who are willing to recruit our undergraduates. On the other hand for the students who wanted to know the standard of the human resources that the large companies are seeking.

Ed after Grad
This is an event to raise awareness among the undergrads about local higher education programmes. In an era where students tend to go abroad for post-graduate studies, we have identified the need to promote local higher education opportunities among our students. The event would consist of a number of sessions that concentrates on a wide area of local post-graduate study opportunities and special higher education programmes conducted in collaboration with foreign universities.

Flagship Day
This is the main event of the Are You Ready programme, in which the prospective employers' role comes into play. The employers are given the opportunity to interview the skilful and capable undergraduates of the University. This would be a valuable opportunity for the employers to reach the undergraduates of the University as well as for the undergraduates, providing them the platform to increase the interaction with industry.

Dining etiquette and grooming workshop

This focuses on the customs and polite behaviour at professional occasions. The workshop is entirely open for all university students.
