Sri Lankan businesses representing the country's key Intel partners joined over 400 others in participating at the chipmaker's Asia Pacific channel summit held recently.
Identified as a yearly update where the latest in Intel technology is shared amongst its channel partners, 2010's event highlighted new growth opportunities as perceived by the company, including embedded devices, such as those within televisions, smart phones and even cars, and solid state drives, which are more rugged versions of existing storage that respond faster and have improved battery capabilities.
Since being launched more than a decade ago, Intel's channel business, comprising sales to distributors, resellers, dealers and retailers, has led transitions of new technologies into the mainstream as well as, today, resulting in, small and medium businesses accounting for 87% of Asia Pacific channel sales. Globally, channels are also responsible for 20% to 30% of all processor unit sales, the largest Intel customer in total. |
