Top Sri Lankan conglomerate John Keells Group recently received a B+ disclosure level from the Global Reporting Initiative Organisation for its Sustainability Report 2009/2010, an improvement over the C+ received in 2009, according to a company statement.
Further, the document, which was released on May 31, was assured and verified by third party Det Norske Veritas, in accordance with AccountAbility’s AA1000 Assurance Standard (2008). In addition, the report also extended the group's commitment to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) with the Global Reporting Initiative indicators being aligned to respective Global Compact Principles while also fulfilling the UNGC's requirement of signatories to submit periodic "Communication On Progress". |
