The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) will conduct a two day workshop on the UCP 600 and URDG 758, on July 20 – 21, 2010, at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo, said the chamber in a press release.
The methods of handling letters of credit in international trade finance has been standardised by the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) by publishing the UCP and updating it. The current version is the UCP 600. The revised ICC Rules URDG (Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees) will come into force from the 1st July 2010.
The two day workshop on the UCP 600 and URDG 758, will be conducted by Mr. Pavel Andrle who is an active member of the ICC Banking Commission and an International Trade Finance Specialist. He is the author of the book ‘Documentary Credits - A Practical Guide for Exporters.’ He is also a lecturer in documentary payments, financing foreign trade and other subjects.
The workshop is suitable for officials in banks, export and import organisations, insurance companies, traders, carriers, freight forwarders, legal councils and advocates, said the chamber. |
