NCP's total of 191 was built round a stroke-filled 70 by Maliyadeva opener Nimna Karunarathne. Wimaranga Perera and Dasun Madumal also Chipped in. Spinners Palihakkara (the skipper), Jayasundera and Wanniarachchi accounted for the wickets.
Four CP batsmen entered double figures, with Kasun Ekanayake top-scoring with 36.
Day earlier at the same venue, the Central Province side was humiliated by a strong Western Province term by 200 runs. This must be some kind of record!
