A successful cabinet meeting was held at the former LTTE headquarters where Prabhakaran held sway and a significant cabinet decision was taken to reduce the price of fuel transported to the North, on the recommendation of Minister Susil Premajantha.
Here are two important matters which the Minister for Public Administration, W.D.J. Seneviratne should present as a cabinet paper and get approval, for the sake of pensioners.
(a) To fix a particular date of the month to pay pensions. At present,it is any date from the 1st to the 15th, thus inconveniencing pensioners.
(b) Stop all pensions to those domiciled abroad, as they are well looked after by their adopted country. This would cover the expenditure of holding cabinet meetings at outstations.
