Imperial College commends Sri Lankan prize winner

Imperial College, the pioneers in CIMA education, is honoured to announce the achievement of their TOPCIMA student at the May 2010 CIMA examinations. Commended for producing competent students and Nurturing Tomorrow's Leaders, this achievement adds to their list of successes over the last several years.

Tharindra Gooneratne, just 19 has been an exceptional student throughout his CIMA career even bagging the Sri Lankan Prize for Business Strategy at the November 2009 Examinations.
'Tharindra has made Imperial College proud. A student since the Certificate Level, he has demonstrated tremendous effort in his studies and has always worked extra hard towards his achievements.

Though we are proud of this young individual, most of the credit of this achievement goes to Tharindra' commented S. Sivabaskaran, Director Imperial College. 'Whilst it adds a feather to our cap, it is important to give credit where it is due. The student wins a prize for the extra effort he/she puts in his/her studies with the support of the lecturer. 75% of the credit goes to the hard work and effort put in by the student, whilst 25% lies on the extra effort on the lecturer's part. We are proud of the overall efforts of students at the May 2010 examinations as many of them have proven successful', he further commented.

At Imperial College, we don't just reward Sri Lankan or World prizes, we also reward our students who have achieved the highest mark for subjects they have followed at Imperial College. Having quickly established themselves as one of the top providers of CIMA education in Sri Lanka, students thrive in their culture of innovation and vision for the future, striving to create a learning environment where they are able to acquire knowledge and skills enabling them to fulfil their aspirations. Students at Imperial College are provided with the academic tools, practical skills and real world opportunities necessary to be successful individuals.

Imperial College is recognized for their academic quality and business relevance and is committed to inspiring excellence in every student with a view to steer them towards learning and development in order to achieve excellence for themselves and their respective organizations. These students recognize the value of an education delivered by a long established Business School.
