To commemorate the 175th Anniversary of Royal College, Colombo, Royal College Union (RCU) has undertaken to organize an Invitation Schools Athletics Relay Carnival to be held on Saturday, 9th October 2010 at the College grounds, Reid Avenue.
Sri Lanka’s leading Boys and Girls schools have been invited to grace this occasion. Apart from the host Royal team S. Thomas’, Ananda, Nalanda, St. Josephs, St. Peters, Trinity and Maris Stella from Boys Schools and Visakha, Ladies, Bishops, Holy Family Convent, Musaeus, Methodist, St. Bridget’s and Sirimavo Balika Vidyalaya from the girl’s sector will battle for the honours.
The Champions and Runners-up will be awarded with handsome trophies and other prizes.
In addition the organizers have also invited the Clubs men and women relay teams of Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Ceylonese Track and Field Club, Ace Athletics Club, Track Masters and Sri Lak Athletics Club.
This will be a glamour event in the 175th Anniversary calendar of events. As on similar occasions the organizers are expecting a prestigious gathering of not only past and present Royalists and families, but invited guests, national athletes, past athletes from other leading schools. |
