Ruvindu helps Ananda begin on winning note

Ruvindu Shamen with an all round performance helped Ananda begin their Under 19 2010/11 inter-school cricket season on a winning note enabling his side record an eight wicket win over St. Benedict’s at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

Dharmaraja had the better of the exchanges in their match against Sri Summangala Panadura at Lake View yesterday.

Opener Aruna Dharmasena made an impressive 53 and fellow opener Thamira Harshan 35 in the visitor’s total of 188. Off spinner Deneth Lanka boosted his tally of wickets with another four wicket haul.
Heavy scoring left hander Sasith Gunasekera took the spotlight with a stroke filled 87 in 141 balls for the Rajans.
