As a globally recognized body, the ICASL membership boasts of an impressive number of high-end professionals serving in the corporate sector both in Sri Lanka and even at an international level. The Institute is also the country's largest professional body, with over 4200 professional members.
An impressive number of our members serve as members in the Board of Directors in companies while our membership consists of a large number of Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers and other high level executive positions in the corporate world.
The ICASL enjoys a student membership of over 35,000 registered students. The Institute strives to provide the best of facilities and training to its students which are also on par with global qualifications. The Institute conducts qualifying examinations, supervises and regulates student education and training. The Institute's qualifications have gained worldwide acceptance across the globe. The ICASL curriculum comprises of Certificate in Accounting and Business (CAB), Diploma in Accounting and Business (DAB) and Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA).
The Institute is an accredited authority to formulate Accounting and Auditing Standards in Sri Lanka. These Standards enable the preparation of financial statements in a comparable manner across different jurisdictions encouraging future investors who evaluate these statements as a prelude to making investment decisions.
Established in the late 1959 by an Act of Parliament (No. 23 of 1959), the Institute is the first professional Accountancy Organization to be incorporated under an Act of Parliament. It is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), The Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and a Founder member of the South Asian Federation of the Accountants (SAFA). |
