The British School in Colombo organized a under -19 Inter- International School Basketball Tournament recently .at the British School indoor court and the Final was between Colombo International School and defending champions Lyceum Nugegoda.

The final turned to well-deserved battle of spirit and skills. CIS who fought hard through the game beat Lyceum by 62 points to 57. Virosh Dharmadasa ( son of former Royal and CR&FC flanker Vipula Dharmadasa) of CIS was the choice for the Most Valuable Player While Nitesh was the Best Defensive Player and Rajitha Hettiarachchi of Lyceum was the Best Offensive Player.
Virosh Dharmadasa of Colombo International School was the winner of the most coveted award - the Most Valuable Player of the most anticipated event in the Sri Lanka International Schools Calendar - The under 19 basketball championships.
"I chose basketball because I love my team mates. There is so much spirit and comradeship. Of course this is a spectator sport and there is so much glory in basket ball and we can play basketball against the local schools unlike cricket which the International Schools are not allowed to play in."
