International Assessment for Schools (IAS) 2010 Winners |
'International Assessments for Schools (IAS) is a diagnostic assessment that tells the student, parent, teacher and school what is good or deficient in their application of learning. This helps them take corrective action and build on their strengths.
IAS is conducted by Macmillan, a 150 plus year old global publisher of educational books in collaboration with Educational Assessment Australia (EAA), a non-profit organisation run by the University of New South Wales.
EAA specialises in large-scale assessment. EAA is ISO 9000 Certified, this means that their assessment process is designed to consistently and accurately measure student performance without any flaws. This ISO certification is unique in the world. It guarantees the quality of questions used to extract the diagnosis on the application of learning from a student and analyse the data generated to give meaningful and accurate feedback. The process of creation of the question bank for these tests is absolutely flawless and of very high standard.

1.Monitor and compare students' performance in the school
2.Track school level performance and class level performance from year to year
3.Identify areas for growth and revision within the school
4.Identify students with particular talents
5.Identify weak students who need special attention
6.Compare students' performance with those in the rest of the country
7.Include the diagnostic reports and certificates while compiling an academic portfolio
This will help teachers to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their students in the specific skill areas. (source: www.iais.emacmillan.com)
Hejaaz international has found this to be very beneficial in their teaching and has used methods to get the students to focus on their weak areas towards producing results. The School intends to keep the track record progressive and is leaving no stone unturned to achieve this objective. |
